An Orphan Girl in the Graveyard

This is a reproduction in oil of a Delacroix I painted.  This is everyone's favourite.  I wanted to study the painting of a portrait and found a copy of this one to work from.  I have another portrait that I am working on and hope to finish this fall.  It is a very famous picture from the National Geographic of a girl everyone will recognize.

Richmond Hill United Church

This is an oil painting I did of the Richmond Hill United Church.  As it is now surrounded by fast food places, stop lights and endless traffic, I tried to imagine what it might have looked like around the time it had been built.  There is a small boy hiding in the grass in the foreground trying to skip the Sunday tradition.  This is where my husband and I were married a couple of years ago so it has lots of sentimental value.  It measures 20" x 28".

Serenity

This is an oil painting I did from a picture in a book about the gardens that Van Gogh used to paint from.  It measures 24" x 20" unframed.

The Magpie

This is another Claude Monet reproduction.  This one I copied in order to learn how to paint snow and all the colours he used other than white.  This again is just a small study 14" x 18".

Waterlily Pond

This is a reproduction of a Claude Monet, one of many water lily scenes.  It is a small study I did to learn from his techniques in my quest to stray from the realistic image I seem to concentrate on.  It is 18" x 14".

Romance in Quebec City

When my daughter and I were visiting Quebec City, we took a picture of this scene.  It reminded us of Romeo and Juliet.  I thought it would make a great painting.  I think when I have time, I'll add a bouquet of flowers for him to present to the girl.  This picture is 24" x 36" and hangs above our fireplace.

Flowers in Stained Glass

This is another example of a small portion of a Tiffany window reproduction in Window Paints.  I have since tried a different type of paint on one of the current projects I am working on.  So far it looks amazing and I can't wait to finish and post it as well.

Stained Glass Mural

This is a reproduction of one the many Louis Comfort Tiffany windows.  I started painting windows years ago for those odd, over the front door, very high and awkward to cover windows.  We lived in a century home in Stouffville of which I painted the windows in the living room, the window above the front door and the front door in Victorian patterns.  At night with the lights on, the house looked amazing.  My only problem with doing this type of work is I have a fear of heights.  I have had to use scaffolding to do some of the work.

The Farm in Autumn

This is my first attempt at painting an actual picture in acrylics.  I painted this from a picture I took at a farm near King City in the early fall.  Prior to this I painted murals all over the walls in our house in Oak Ridges in Acrylic's.  We had a jungle in our bathroom and my daughters bedroom looked like she was living in an Oshkosh dreamworld.  The size of the picture is 20" x 28" unframed.

Hunting for Minnows

This is a picture of my daughter Allison hunting for minnows at a pond on a farm near King City.  She is probably 7 years old at the time.  The picture is in oils and is 24" x 30" unframed.

A Day in Venice

This was my first attempt at oil painting.  I found a photograph in a book about Italy and painted from that.  The size of the picture unframed is 24" x 36".
